THE RRS GLOSSARY
Why it matters to a project
Records need to be interpreted alongside their coverage, accuracy and other evidence. The absence of a recorded incident is not the same as proof that an incident did not occur.
PROJECT EXAMPLE
A researcher compares a bombing record with mapping and later aerial imagery.
A useful distinction
A regional bombing record is not a precise record of every present-day buried hazard.
Questions to ask when it appears in a scope
- What area, activity and decision does this term refer to?
- What evidence or output will the project team receive?
- What limitations need to be carried into the next stage?
