THE RRS GLOSSARY
Why it matters to a project
The report should make the reasoning behind its conclusions visible, including gaps, limitations and the implications for planned works. The required research depends on the site.
PROJECT EXAMPLE
Additional historical sources are reviewed after an initial report identifies unresolved military land use.
A useful distinction
Detailed research does not automatically require a survey or clearance programme.
Questions to ask when it appears in a scope
- What area, activity and decision does this term refer to?
- What evidence or output will the project team receive?
- What limitations need to be carried into the next stage?
