THE RRS GLOSSARY
Why it matters to a project
The activity needs task-appropriate specialists and an agreed scope. Selection of a target is not confirmation of its identity; the investigation findings inform any further work.
PROJECT EXAMPLE
A client scopes follow-up work after a survey report identifies unresolved anomalies.
A useful distinction
Target investigation should not be treated as a guarantee of full-area clearance.
Questions to ask when it appears in a scope
- What area, activity and decision does this term refer to?
- What evidence or output will the project team receive?
- What limitations need to be carried into the next stage?
