Why it matters to a project
An EOD background needs to be considered alongside current task-specific competence, equipment and authorisation. The title alone does not define what a contractor is engaged to deliver.
PROJECT EXAMPLE
A client may need an EOD specialist to support an agreed clearance contract.
A useful distinction
Awareness training and a watching brief do not themselves amount to a qualification in disposal.
Questions to ask when it appears in a scope
- What area, activity and decision does this term refer to?
- What evidence or output will the project team receive?
- What limitations need to be carried into the next stage?
