THE RRS GLOSSARY
Why it matters to a project
A postcode alone is often insufficient to define the precise footprint. The agreed boundary should be clear and changes communicated before earlier conclusions are relied upon elsewhere.
PROJECT EXAMPLE
A red-line drawing identifies which part of a larger estate is included in a desktop study.
A useful distinction
An assessment for one parcel of land should not automatically be applied to an adjoining area.
Questions to ask when it appears in a scope
- What area, activity and decision does this term refer to?
- What evidence or output will the project team receive?
- What limitations need to be carried into the next stage?
