Plan around your investigation method and depth.
An intrusive investigation can reach ground that previous redevelopment has not disturbed. The relevance of UXO risk depends on the location, the proposed depth and the method of work. A borehole programme therefore needs to be reviewed as a set of defined activities, not simply described as general site work.
We scope technical input around your investigation schedule and existing assessment. The quotation should identify any specialist equipment, personnel, mobilisation and reporting requirements separately. Where a survey is proposed, its coverage and limitations must be clear to the investigation contractor and the client.
What the scope can include
- Review of the intrusive works schedule against existing UXO advice
- Defined interfaces with the ground investigation contractor
- Agreed requirements for specialist personnel or equipment
- Reporting against the agreed locations and activities
What we need from you
- Borehole or pile location plan and proposed depths
- Investigation methods and anticipated ground conditions
- Existing risk assessment and site constraints
- Mobilisation dates and sequence of works
Is downhole support always required for boreholes?
No single mitigation method is suitable for every borehole. The decision depends on the site-specific assessment and planned investigation. Equipment or depth limits must be understood before a method is selected.
